Congrats to:
- Alex Vries, who received the Most Improved Player of the First XI award at the recent Soccer Awards Dinner, also received school honours for music.
- Michael Smithyman hit 65 runs for the U15A side in their 140-run win over Hilton College and cracked 56 runs for the U15A Cricket XI in their close 15-run loss to Waterkloof during the PBHS Festival.
- Liam Tibshraeny was recently awarded school honours for Service.
- Lucien Baldry took gold in the U18 K2 race in the annual Fish River Canoe Marathon. Lucien clinched overall gold in a Michaelhouse clean sweep of the podium for the U18 age group of the 2023 Interschools Canoeing Series. He was awarded the Stu Maclaren Trophy for the Best Senior Canoest at the recent annual Michaelhouse Canoe Club Awards Dinner.
- Stuart Neilson and his paddling partner took silver at the Fish River Canoe Marathon.

The following Pridwin Old Boys placed in the top ten of their grades at the end of the third quarter:
- Grade 12, 2nd - Kofi Asumaning
- Grade 8, 5th - Oliver Thompson

Celebrating a year of togetherness at Pridwin's concluding Centenary event. Our Christmas celebration was a beautiful evening filled with festive joy and community spirit. From the heartwarming Christmas sing-along with Maestro Richard Cock and members of the Chanticleer Chamber Choir leading our community to the brilliant Nativity Concert by our Junior Choir and, finally, a moving performance by our senior boys at the Pridwin Carol Service, every moment was pure magic!

Beat the Clock Swimming Challenge!
The mission: Swim 60 lengths in under 45 minutes.
The goal: To gear up the Pridwin Swimming Programme and create a buzz around next year’s Midmar Mile.
And guess what? Our Grade 3 to 7 boys showed us they were up for the challenge. You were brilliant, boys. A special shoutout goes to Ben Brown, who completed 70 lengths within the assigned time.
Pridwin welcomes all interested swimmers to join us for Midmar trials next year. Keep up your training during the holidays, boys and you’ll be ready and raring to go in the new year!

Who doesn’t love a picnic?
One of the best things about the strong relationship we share with our neighbours, St Vincent School of the Deaf, is the special times we get together to develop deeper connections between our children.
Celebrating the power of friendship and inclusivity, our Grade 0 and 1 boys at Pridwin welcomed the juniors from St Vincent’s to a fun picnic. Exchanging festive cards and sharing treats, these special moments enhance our boys’ school experience and strengthen the bond between our communities.

We felt overwhelming gratitude, celebration and joy at Pridwin yesterday as our Pridwin Academy boys attended an end of year assembly, closing the chapter on Pridwin Academy’s successful inaugural year.

Reflecting on growth, accomplishments and shared happy memories, we were touched to witness the boys celebrating each others achievements with as much gusto as their own. Thanks to our generous donors for making our Pridwin Academy a reality; your immeasurable support has made a difference in our Academy boys’ lives.

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on our Centenary theme of 100 Years Future Fit and all the massive learnings the boys have undergone as they strive to become future fit global citizens.

Termly themes of ‘Impact the Future’, ‘Invent the Future’ and ‘Ignite the Future’ helped our boys discover the power they hold to make a difference. Through projects, initiatives, and community engagement, they learned that even small actions can have a ripple effect, shaping a brighter future for all.

Living our Pridwin Values!
Pridwin Grade 6 boys, Eoin Gaffney and Gabangaye Thabethe, joined forces to pay forward their love of sport.

They collected soccer, tennis, rugby, and basketballs with the hope that more children would have an opportunity to play sport. All the balls collected were handed over to our Pridwin Academy boys, whose schools in Alexandra will distribute the balls. We loved Eoin and Gabangaye’s wise words, “All you need is one ball to have many children playing together”. We are proud of you boys!

The stakes were high as our current Class of 2023 basketball boys took on last year’s Class of 2022 Basketball team.
There was lots of banter and bravado, but after a fun-filled match, the Class of 22 old boys won with a score of 39 - 34.

'WHAT IS THAT?', were the curious cries from Grade 2 boys when their classmate brought a 70 year old radio to school for Show & Tell!

The boys' interest was piqued by this ‘ancient’ technology much older than the digital devices they are accustomed to using. And then, to their utter amazement, by manually turning a knob the sounds of 947 were heard!
